Partner in the Public Finance group. Works in all aspects of the firm’s tax-exempt finance practice and has served as bond counsel and underwriter's counsel for the issuance of the following types of private activity bond projects financed in Iowa, Wisconsin, South Dakota and Missouri. The types of private activity bond financings include issuances for 501(c)(3) entities, hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living entities, private colleges, manufacturing facilities, electric utility financings and residential rental housing facilities. Serves as bond counsel to approximately fifty Iowa cities for the issuance of general municipal obligation debt issuances.
Provides on-going counsel to the Iowa Finance Authority and has acted as underwriter’s counsel for the past eight years with respect to the pooled revenue financings for the State of Iowa’s prison financings and State of Iowa Sewer and Water Revolving Fund Programs. Also drafts federal and state legislation related to the issuance of tax-exempt debt. Investment banking clients have included Wells Fargo Brokerage Services, LLC; U.S. Bancorp Piper Jaffray, Inc.; UBS PaineWebber; Morgan Stanley and Ruan Securities.
