George Foote represents telecommunications, public utility, technology, social media and defense companies in the United States and abroad. He represents established companies, joint ventures, start-up businesses and trade associations. His practice includes representation of clients in acquisitions, financing transactions, contract negotiation and regulatory proceedings.
Mr. Foote represents clients across the telecommunications industry, including wireless companies, telephone companies, electric utilities and cable and broadband providers. He serves as policy and regulatory litigation counsel before telecommunications regulators at state, federal and international levels. He helped organize the first international financial settlement system for the mobile communication industry and represented the industry in creation of health research programs. His work includes advising startup social media companies and other new media and mobile industry entrepreneurs.
At the Federal Communications Commission, Mr. Foote represents utility companies on pole attachment regulation and policy development. He also represents telephone companies, satellite providers, school districts and vendors in Universal Service Fund contribution and payment matters. His work includes representation of radio and television licensees in license applications and transfers.
Mr. Foote has represented major foreign defense contractors in acquisition of U.S. properties. He provides counsel to foreign entities seeking approval of transactions from U.S. government administrative and political bodies reviewing national security and antitrust issues.
Mr. Foote serves as general counsel to the United States Institute of Peace and other nonprofit organizations.
