Kenneth R. Feinberg is an attorney and one of the nation’s leading experts in mediation and alternative dispute resolution. He has served as the special master of the 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund, the fund administrator of the Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund for victims of the shootings at Virginia Tech University, and arbitrator for thousands of disputes.
From 2009 through the summer of 2010, Mr. Feinberg served as special master for TARP Executive Compensation. He determined acceptable annual compensation packages for senior corporate officials at companies that received the most taxpayer financial assistance during the federal bailout. He is currently the administrator of BP PLC’s $20 billion oil-spill fund, which was set up as a way to pay claims related to the Gulf Coast oil spill. Both positions presented myriad challenges and opportunities—all of which have significant ramifications on Wall Street and Main Street.
Hear Mr. Feinberg’s thoughts on the role of the government in executive compensation.
