Dorsey has decades of energy experience representing, providing counsel, and handling regulatory and related court proceedings on both a State and Federal level, including representation of clients before state Public Utility Commissions, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, State and Federal Courts, the Department of Energy, the Department of Interior, the Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Corps of Engineers and on matters before the United States Congress. Our team of energy attorneys also includes practitioners with international energy project experience.

Dorsey represents clients in various energy proceedings including complex compliance, project finance and litigation matters.  They also draft and negotiate agreements associated with the purchase, sale and financing of energy as a commodity, energy assets, including pipeline and gathering facilities, storage and distribution facilities, power plants, and refining and natural gas processing facilities.  Representation also is provided in connection with the transportation of crude oil, petroleum products, propane, natural gas, natural gas liquids, LNG and the transmission and generation of electricity

Dorsey also has more than a decade of experience in the renewable energy sector. Our energy attorneys have completed the largest ethanol deals in U.S. history, including a $275 million project financing for three ethanol production facilities in Nebraska, Indiana and Ohio. Dorsey has handled every aspect of power plant development and finance for a wide range of wind power projects, as well as a variety of hydroelectric, solar, geothermal and waste-to-energy projects.
