Diversity Initiatives - Dorsey & Whitney LLP
Dorsey participates in a number of initiatives that reinforce our dedication to recruiting diverse law students and attorneys. Dorsey & Whitney Diversity Fellowship Dorsey is sponsoring the sixth annual Diversity Fellowship in 2011. Each fellowship recipient, in our Denver, Minneapolis, and Seattle offices, will work as a summer associate in 2011, and at the end of the summer will receive $10,000 to be applied toward law school tuition and expenses during their second year of law school. In addition, Dorsey has hosted both the Minnesota Minority Recruitment Conference and the Northwest Minority Job Fair in recent years. Local Diversity Clerkship Programs Dorsey supports the work of local organizations that offer diversity clerkship programs. The firm will participate in three diversity clerkship programs in 2010:
Student Organization Outreach The firm actively reaches out to the minority student groups at law schools. This includes sending correspondence during the school year to the student groups and also sponsoring events on campus for these organizations.
Summer Associates and New Associates Dorsey is committed to increasing the number of minority, GLBT, and women represented in the firm's summer associate and new associate classes. The firm has continued to increase representation of these groups in both the summer and new associate classes.
