Diversity Initiatives - Dorsey & Whitney LLP



Dorsey participates in a number of initiatives that reinforce our dedication to recruiting diverse law students and attorneys. 

Dorsey & Whitney Diversity Fellowship
Dorsey is sponsoring the fourth annual Diversity Fellowship for 1L students. Each fellowship recipient, one each in our Denver, Minneapolis, and Seattle offices, will work as a summer associate in 2009, and at the end of the summer will receive $10,000 to be applied toward law school tuition and expenses during their second year of law school. Job Fairs
The firm participates in a number of job fairs each year, including: In addition, Dorsey has hosted both the Minnesota Minority Recruitment Conference and the Northwest Minority Job Fair several times in recent years.

Local Minority Clerkship Programs
Dorsey supports the work of local bar organizations that organize minority clerkship programs. The firm currently participates in three such programs: Student Organization Outreach
The firm actively reaches out to the minority student groups at law schools. This includes sending correspondence during the school year to the student groups and also sponsoring events on campus for these organizations.

Summer Associates and New Associates
Dorsey is committed to increasing the number of minority, GLBT, and women represented in the firm's summer associate and new associate classes. The firm has continued to increase representation of these groups in both the summer and new associate classes.
