In order for a diversity program to succeed, the firm’s management must support and participate in that program. In 2006, Dorsey's Diversity Steering Committee was restructured to encourage increased management participation in the day-to-day diversity initiatives. Diane Malfeld was appointed to serve as Management Committee representative on the committee.

Dorsey supports the retention and promotion of women, GLBT, and minority attorneys. As a firm, we are working to increase the representation of these groups in our management. Marianne Short assumed the firm's Managing Partner role effective January 1, 2007. Marianne is the first woman to serve as Dorsey's Managing Partner.

Marianne Short Managing Partner
Marianne has 30 years of courtroom experience as a trial lawyer and an appellate judge. She is the first woman to be managing partner at Dorsey, and only the fifth female managing partner at a top 100 law firm.
