Kate Demarest is an associate in Dorsey's Trial Group. She represents clients in all stages of commercial litigation before state and federal courts. Her practice especially focuses on Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act issues, corporate governance, land use matters, attorney malpractice defense, and appeals.
While earning her J.D., Kate served as an Articles Editor for the Minnesota Law Review. She gained significant experience doing asylum litigation at the South Texas Pro Bono Asylum Representation Project (ProBAR) for East African immigrants entering the United States across the Mexico border. Kate served as a Peace Corps volunteer in South Africa from 2003-2005.
