Michael Chin is a partner in Dorsey’s corporate practice in both Shanghai and Hong Kong. Mr Chin has years of experience practicing in Asia representing multi-national clients involved in a broad range of both public and private merger and acquisition transactions ranging from Hong Kong listed company takeovers to cross border acquisitions. He is also an experienced private equity practitioner, having represented a range of venture capital and private equity funds with their fund raising and investment transactions as well as emerging growth companies with their various stages of financing and other general corporate needs.

NewMargin Ventures, a leading Shanghai based VC firm, with respect to the establishment of a PRC telecoms infrastructure private equity fund involving Alcatel Participation, a leading French telecoms operator. Softbank Asia Infrastructure Fund with its Series C investment in ideaCulture Limited (“Cherrypicks”), a Hong Kong based value added telecommunications content provider. The Carlyle Group with its Series B private placement with Goldman Sachs, in eAccess Limited, a Japanese Corporation. DragonTech Ventures, Acer Capital and Intel Capital with respect to their Series A financing of China TMN, a PRC based telecoms management network company. DragonTech Ventures with respect to its and Warburg Pincus’ Series A and Series B investments in Harbour Networks Limited, a leading Chinese data networking equipment company. Sino-Korea Wireless Technology Ventures Fund, a VC fund jointly managed by DragonTech Ventures and TG Asia Ventures, with respect to the fund’s investment in Mobion Asia Limited. TG Ventures Partnership with respect to its convertible bond financing of Winscom Technology, Inc. KGI (part of the Koos Group) with the establishment of its US$50 million private equity fund. Ascendas Pte. Ltd., a Singaporean Government owned real estate company, with the establishment of the Global SynerTech Fund, LP co-managed with KLM Capital and Tsinghua Science Park Innovation Ltd. The Cathay Investment Fund Limited in connection with its delisting from the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and relisting on the Irish Stock Exchange.
