Dorsey Is Ranked A Top Performer By Fortune 1000 Corporate Counsel In Latest Survey

MINNEAPOLIS – (July 9, 2009) – International law firm Dorsey & Whitney LLP announced today that it was ranked #5 out of 441 law firms by the corporate counsel at Fortune 1000 companies in a just-released survey by The BTI Consulting Group. The ranking is based on more than 550 one-on-one interviews conducted by BTI to assess the six key factors tied directly to new business and client satisfaction. The result means Dorsey performs 3 times better than the average law firm in building and maintaining client relationships.

In addition to the #5 ranking overall, Dorsey was recognized as best in class by BTI in two industries; retail trade and utilities, and received honorable mention in seven other industries including healthcare, energy, high tech, transportation, investment banking, wholesale trade and chemicals. Further, the firm received best in class recognition for its work in three practice areas; corporate, litigation, and intellectual property (IP) and IP litigation. Honorable mention was received for the work of Dorsey’s M&A, employment, banking and finance, regulatory and securities practices.

“This is further validation of Dorsey’s commitment to exceptional client service and the outstanding quality of our lawyers”, said Marianne D. Short, Dorsey’s Managing Partner. “We are pleased to be recognized by our clients in BTI’s latest study. It sets a high bar for performance and we will continue to focus on exceeding our clients’ expectations in everything we do.”
