Mr. Primps is a Partner in the New York office and member of the Trial group. Mr. Primps is a highly-experienced litigator with a practice focused on antitrust, energy, insurance and regulated industries. His clients include major insurance and reinsurance companies and alternative energy providers, including the largest operator of wind turbines in China as well as a U.S.-based manufacturer of wind turbines. Within the past two years, he has secured a summary judgment victory for a Canadian life science company and has secured dismissals for a large insurer in New York Supreme Court, and an insurance trade association in Federal court.
During his career, he has represented Canada’s largest state-owned utility company, a major paper company in the largest antitrust litigation in the history of the 5th Circuit, as well as major financial institutions and Fortune 500 companies. He has counseled clients from the U.K. and Japan on their compliance with U.S. antitrust laws, whether in the context of mergers or as part of ongoing compliance efforts. He devised the antitrust compliance program for the London Market Defendants in the landmark Hartford Fire case. Today, he counsels two of the insurance industry’s most prominent trade groups on their ongoing compliance with antitrust and trade laws in the U.S. and the EU.
